Wrapp, a leading social gifting app for celebrating, thanking and surprising friends and family with free (and paid) gift cards from top brands, is now available in the UK via Apple’s App Store or Google Play (Update – February 2023: The startup seems to be no longer in business under this website and we therefore deactivated the link). In addition to their recent UK launch, Wrapp is already operating in Sweden.
The Stockholm-based startup Wrapp was founded in 2011 and secured $5.5 million in a Series A round led by Atomico in November 2011. Created for social media and smartphone users, Wrapp aims to create a fun and easy way to give, receive and redeem gift cards, and also allows Facebook friends to contribute to the presents. Since mid-November when Wrapp started, more than 150,000 consumers have sent nearly 1 million gift cards in Sweden.
