Berlin-based nestpick, a platform for verified rental booking, begins European expansion

nestpick, the online platform for verified rental booking, today launches in the UK, France, Italy and Spain. The Berlin-based startup enables the younger generation to rent or let mid-term accommodation securely, quickly and conveniently.

The startup was founded in May 2014 and has been backed by Rocket Internet, its main investor, since this December. Thanks to its successful launch in The Netherlands, nestpick now aims to grow internationally and take over the rental market in other European countries and further afield.

nestpick’s exchange platform aims to provide a solution for both tenants and landlords to find a perfect match in a foreign city. The young company handles the communication and security check for both parties. Tenants send their deposits directly to nestpick, who transfer it to the landlord once the tenant confirms she has moved in and everything is to her satisfaction. This service is at no cost to landlords and they maintain the right to assess the applying tenants in advance. According to nestpick, the past few months showed that on average empty nests are filled within 2.5 days.

Fabian Dudek, the founder of nestpick, describes: “nestpick is not only a service but a solution to a problem we encountered first-hand. During our studies we spotted the increasing demand of our generation to have an easy way to find the perfect nest, ready to move in from wherever they are. This generation is driven by global opportunities – why not make their lives easier if we can?”

nestpick is aimed at markets with a high international student inflow, which is why they picked UK, Spain, Italy and France for their first expansion round. Let’s see which countries are next for nestpick!
