blink-logoBrent Hoberman, the co-founder and former CEO of Lastminute.com, just invested in the Spanish startup Blink Booking through PROFounders Capital (Update – February 2023: The startup seems to be no longer in business under this website and we therefore deactivated the link). This recent funding round brought in $2.5 million for the mobile-focused hotel booking service, which already offers last-minute bookings in 39 cities across seven European countries. badoo_logoBadoo, the London-based social discovery network is currently counting 149.8 million users, and at some point today will likely tick over to hit 150 million, given that it clocks around 150,000 users a day. This makes it one of the top five social networking sites globally according to comScore, and its growth is being significantly powered by mobile. Read more on TechCrunch.

archify-logoThe Vienna-based startup Archify just secured a seed funding round from Balderton Capital and will be relocating to Berlin. Archify, a browser plugin currently in invite-only beta, saves everything you’ve browsed online and comes complete with a screenshot of the pages you visit. Unfortunately, the startup isn’t confirming how much it secured. HeyCrowd-logoThe Paris-based social polling platform HeyCrowd has seen 400% growth since LeWeb. 8 million votes on 30,000 polls and counting, which is an average of 260 votes per poll. In their most recent update, HeyCrowd’s founders Emmanuel Bellity and Matthieu Rouif said that their main focus is to make the content easier to share, and easier to access.
