At the beginning of the year, we introduced you to 10 promising Romanian startups to watch in 2021. Today, we’re taking a closer look at the country’s capital and largest city, Bucharest, which recently also made it into our annual ranking of Europe’s biggest startup hubs

For this post, we’ve scouted Bucharest’s most exciting early-stage startups that were founded within the last 3 years. We took into consideration factors like team size, funding, growth rate, innovation, market size. With this in mind, here are 10 exceptionally promising Bucharest-based startups to look out for in 2021 and beyond.

DRUID is an AI-driven, no-code, chatbot authoring platform, for any industry and role. Founded in 2018, the startup has raised over €4.7 million in funding and has developed chatbots to empower employees, customers, and partners to communicate with the business and enterprise systems in an intuitive and efficient way. Druid aims to reduce the time spent by users with operations and increase data quality, also reducing the overall costs.

SeedBlink is a platform that set out to democratize access to early-stage investments and to to lower barriers for investors and founders. Their vision is to create an investment platform that has the reach of crowdfunding, the flexibility of angel investors, and the structure of venture capital. Launched in 2019, the startup has raised €3.5 million in funding and has so far attracted over 5,000 investors from 15 countries, with total investments of over 18 million.

Bunnyshell is a cloud infrastructure solution for users and companies to deploy, scale, and optimize applications. Since its founding in 2018, the startup has raised €2.1 million to provide easy infrastructure management on multiple clouds, application management, and DevOps tools, including real-time monitoring, auto-scaling, smart self-healing servers, and one-click deployment. 

Bright Spaces is an end-to-end digital leasing platform for commercial real estate. Born in 2019, the proptech startup has raised over €1.5 million in funding to enhance the showcasing, inventory and lead management, reporting, and communication between landlords, brokers, and tenants. They enable the digitisation of all the information regarding the spaces as well as web-based 3D visualisation for floor plans and exterior amenities.

PROCESIO allows businesses and individuals to design, build and run custom software and process automation using NoCode. Since its founding in 2020, the startup has raised about €1.2 million in funding. PROCESIO’s NoCode PaaS technology allows users to visually design custom workflows using powerful integrations that match their security and IT policy constraints.

Instant Factoring is a fintech startup that provides flexible working capital financing through invoice financing for small businesses and micro-companies, turning invoices into cash in 24 hours based on a proprietary automated data-driven scoring technology. Founded in 2018, they’ve raised over €500K to enable the development of small businesses by providing them with flexible and innovative financing solutions. 

mirro.io was founded in 2018 and is a SaaS startup that provides a performance management tool to help companies foster a culture of feedback and increase alignment with clear OKR’s. Mirro aims to boost individual and team performance in workplaces by providing a complete hire-to-retire employee experience, also solving day-to-day administrative tasks in a user-friendly way.

The Outfit is a fashion-tech startup provding a personal shopper solution on a mission to reinvent the shopping experience and customize the way each person buys their clothes. The platform combines algorithms and personal stylists to deliver the right products to customers, based on their preferences and needs. Founded last year, the startup has raised around €300K to make personal styling affordable through technology.

Hyperhuman is an intelligent fitness platform that transforms workout videos into personalized fitness content by using artificial intelligence. The platform recognizes the exercises performed, edits videos, and recommends personalized workouts to its users. Since its founding in 2020, Hyperhuman has raised €500K to develop the mobile app allowing users to produce, distribute and monetize the video workouts to a wider audience.

Medicai is a collaborative imaging platform that enables better sharing and communication between patients, doctors, and clinics. The healthtech startup allows for in-the-cloud, real-time collaboration on imaging investigations (CT, MRI, PET-CT, and more) and medical documents. Since its founding in 2018, Medicai has raised about €500K to bridge the gap between patients and doctors.
