Frontend Software Engineer

Kyokan is a software engineering consultancy that builds products and infrastructure for the crypto asset industry. A Typical Week:
- You'll collaborate with product managers, designers, and software engineers to solve problems for products that interact with public blockchains.
- You'll work with new technologies, smart contract languages, and layer2/scaling solutions.
- You'll interact directly with users, clients, partner product teams outside of Kyokan, and the wider OSS ecosystem, to better understand their needs.
- You'll stay close to the code, solving real user problems and contributing to the state of the art in public chain infrastructure, developer tooling, and distributed application (DApp) development.

Responsibilities 
- Build and improve client-side applications and interfaces that interact with public blockchains, including decentralized applications (DApps), wallets, and developer tools
- Design and implement resilient, scalable, and performant UIs
- Work remotely with multidisciplinary teams to build, maintain and define requirements for production applications serving millions of users

Qualifications 
Minimum qualifications:
- At least two years of frontend development experience
- Experience designing modular frontend components
- Strong HTML, JavaScript, and CSS skills
- Effective verbal and written communicator, able to receive product requirements and explain technical concepts when interacting with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience writing tests for frontend components and application logic
- Experience with at least one modern frontend framework, (e.g. React/Redux, Angular4/Typescript, Vue, MobX, etc.)

Preferred qualifications: 
- 4 or more years of frontend experience
- Experience designing modular frontend components
- Experience building blockchain applications (Web3, Solidity, Truffle, etc)
- Extensive experience with CSS grid and flexbox properties.
- Knowledge of Responsive Web Design, Adaptive Web Design, and mobile first approaches
- JS/CSS/SVG animations and transitions
- Knowledge of Photoshop & Invision
- Ability to start from PSDs to deliver production-ready web applications, ability to think creatively or autonomously create variations of a design, with an eye for user experience and an interface’s edge cases
- Experience designing websites or applications
