Accelerator panel at this year’s EU-Startups Summit: Meet Techstars, APX, Wayra, Rockstart, and Startup Wise Guys!

At our EU-Startups Summit on May 2-3 in Barcelona we’ll welcome up to 1,200 startup founders and investors from across Europe. Alongside fireside chats with successful entrepreneurs, a big pitch competition and other highlights, we’ll also have a panel discussion with some of Europe’s best startup accelerators. Leading figures of the following four accelerators will join us on stage:

techstars-logoTechStars is a global startup accelerator providing access to investment, mentorship, and collaboration with other top entrepreneurs. TechStars provides its accelerator portfolio companies with access to financial, human and intellectual capital to fuel the success of their business. Every TechStars company is offered a $100,000 convertible note. TechStars also contributes $20,000, which is commonly used as a stipend to support living expenses during the program, and in return receives 6% common stock from each company. Techstars’ accelerator portfolio includes more than 1,000 companies, with a market cap of $8.1 billion.

apxAPX is an industry-agnostic VC and accelerator program based in Berlin, investing in early-stage European startups with digital business models. The accelerator connects portfolio startups to mentors, customers and investors, with a mission to identify and accelerate the growth of teams with courageous founders and ambitious ideas, who are hungry to disrupt the world by building on smart digital business models. Backed by Axel Springer and Porsche, APX has currently 22 investments in its portfolio, and is constantly looking for inspiring founders and sustainable companies.

rockstartRockstart is a six month intensive startup program that helps entrepreneurs take their companies from early traction to the global market. Based in Amsterdam, Rockstart provides investment, office space, highly specialised knowledge, and access to a broad network of international mentors, partners and investors. During the program, startups participate in over 30 workshops on topics such as Lean Startup, Growth Strategies, Fundraising, Sales, PR & Marketing, Team & Personal development, Legal & Finance and more. After 100 days, the entrepreneurs present their companies to investors, partners, entrepreneurs, and industry journalists.

WayraWayra is a startup accelerator started in 2011 by the Spanish telecommunications giant Telefónica, supporting disruptive startups in Spain and Latin America to grow into successful businesses. Wayra offers participants investment of up to $50k, a place to work, mentors, business partners, access to a global network of talent, and the opportunity to reach millions of Telefónica customers. Over the past seven year, Wayra has invested in and supported over 180 companies in sectors such as blockchain, health, and mobility.

SWG-logoStartup Wise Guys: Europe’s first B2B focused startup accelerator was founded in 2012 and is a pioneer in the accelerator business. The Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius-based firm offers a 3 month acceleration program coupled with seed investment of up to €30K with follow-up funding, great mentors and a well established business network. They run B2B SaaS program, as well as Fintech and Cybersecurity vertical accelerators. With already more than 120 accelerated companies, Startup Wise Guys is becoming the largest investor in B2B companies in the Baltics, Nordics and the entire CEE region.

During the panel discussion at the event we will learn more about each participating accelerator and their strengths, and we’re going to talk about topics like “how to find the right accelerator for your startup”, “how did the accelerator landscape evolve”, (etc.).
