Aena, one of Europe’s leading airport operators, has announced the launch of the second call for Aena Ventures, its innovative startup acceleration program. The program aims to identify and support startups that offer disruptive solutions to the challenges faced by the airport industry, both now and in the future.

Applications are open until July 31, and interested startups and technology companies can submit their proposals through the official website. This program presents a unique opportunity for startups to collaborate with Aena and access a contract with the company.

As part of Aena’s Strategic Plan for Innovation and Digital Transformation, Aena Ventures seeks to foster innovation and embrace technology and new business models in the airport industry. The program aims to promote the airport of the future by supporting startups that can address the strategic challenges faced by Aena.

This second edition of Aena Ventures will focus on five key challenges: sustainability, data management, digitisation, efficiency, and traveller experience. Startups with innovative solutions related to these areas are encouraged to apply for the program. The specific challenges for this edition include:

  • Airport destination: This challenge seeks solutions that enhance passengers’, companions’, and customers’ options for airport-related procedures, pickups, and deliveries. Startups are expected to introduce new products, services, and experiences to enrich the airport environment.
  • Data-driven airport: Aena is looking for solutions that allow a better understanding of passengers, gathering valuable information to improve the airport’s offerings, increase revenues, and optimize infrastructure utilisation.
  • Airport efficiency: Startups offering technologies and solutions to streamline passenger transit through airport processes are encouraged to participate in this challenge.
  • Virtual airport: Aena aims to digitise services, virtualise experiences, and add value through innovative solutions. Startups capable of providing the necessary technology for these advancements are welcomed
  • Greener airport: Aena is seeking solutions and technologies to compensate for the environmental impact of airport activities and manage airport infrastructure and resources more efficiently, aligning with sustainability goals

This program offers an exceptional opportunity for startups to collaborate with a leading airport operator, receive financial support, and benefit from expert guidance to bring their disruptive solutions to fruition.
