Where agritech innovation meets business

Test Farms Demo Day is a unique online event which gives space for early-stage startups from Central and Eastern Europe, investors and corporates to exchange ideas on the future of agriculture. 

Test Farms Demo Day is part of Test Farms, a programme of EIT Food – the world’s largest and most dynamic food innovation community that accelerates innovation to build a future-fit food system that produces healthy and sustainable food for all. It’s a chance to discover the tech, innovations and fresh ideas that will shape the future of this important industry. For the participating startups, it’s a chance for them to showcase their solutions to potential stakeholders, get feedback and make connections by accessing the EIT Food network.

This year, the event will see 10 startups from the Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, and Hungary have 5 minutes each to present their agritech innovations and explain how they plan to contribute to solving industry challenges. Participants are welcome to join a Q&A session with startups and address their concerns.

Test Farms: Support for sustainable solutions

Part of the EIT Food initiative, the Test Farms Programme offers support to entrepreneurs and early-stage startups with a viable sustainable solution in agriculture. 

The aim of Test Farms is to match startups willing to test and validate their innovative agricultural products or services on location, with farmers who are eager to learn about the latest in agritech innovations.

To date, the initiative has helped to test over 45 innovative solutions in the agricultural industry. 

This year’s startups

This year, the programme has an exciting lineup. Featuring 10 startups from CEE, Test Farms Demo Day will shine a spotlight on up-and-coming startups shaping the future of agriculture, leveraging tech to create better futures. 

Let’s get to know them: 

  • Biouhel, Czech Republic: Founded with the aim of developing the production and use of biochar as one of the tools of sustainable development
  • Plant.id Sensor, Czech Republic: Offering plant disease identification powered by machine learning
  • FlyAgData, Ukraine: Solution that collects agronomical and machinery data online, transforming it into valuable analytics for farmers. 
  • Insignes Labs, Poland: Tailor-made solutions for agriculture to minimize losses in key crops and maximize farms profitability
  • Nangatech, Poland: Boosting productivity of farming through the power of oxygen  
  • Powercob, Poland: Zero-emission energy from corn waste with a positive side effect of the production of biochar 
  • Ribes Technologies, Poland: Smart protection of berry plantations that limits the use of pesticides  
  • Enzybiotx, Poland: ​​Enzybiotics discovery platform – enzyme-based non-antibiotic solutions for bacteria including antibiotics-resistant ones  
  • Smapp Lab, Hungary: Large-scale insect monitoring and early alert system to use pesticides in an efficient way 
  • Spacecrop Technologies, Hungary: Agricultural software that helps farms manage irrigation and provides detailed weather forecasting and crop condition  insights using satellite data and AI
