EIT Food’s Empowering Women in Agrifood programme is accepting applications for its 4th edition

Let’s change the landscape of startups in Central and Eastern Europe together and add a feminine touch!

Are you interested in agri-food topics? Do you see your future in it and have an idea for a dedicated project? Take part in the Empowering Women in Agrifood programme, organized by EIT Food and supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), for a chance to receive up to €10,000 to develop your business!

Women from Estonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Ukraine are now invited to submit their applications to participate in the 4th edition of the programme in 2023.
EIT Food is the world’s largest and most dynamic food innovation community that accelerate innovation to build a future-fit food system that produces healthy and sustainable food for all.

It is one of nine Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), an independent EU body created in 2008 to drive innovation and entrepreneurship across Europe. EIT Food aims to ‘secure the future’ of the food system, which includes building an inclusive community to ‘support innovation at all stages of business creation’.

Empowering Women in Agrifood – EWA programme supports women in the development of their agri-food business activities not only through funding, but above all through tailor-made training, mentoring and networking opportunities. The aim of this initiative is to comprehensively support female entrepreneurs at an early stage of their careers in using their potential, providing them with the appropriate knowledge and access to a network of contacts so that they can successfully start and develop sustainable business activities in the agri-food industry.

Entrepreneurs with a business idea that will revolutionize our food system can apply online. All essential details how to apply in Estonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Ukraine can be found on EIT Food website.

From the submitted applications, 10 women will be selected and invited to participate in workshops and dedicated events for 6 months, while developing their business idea under the individual supervision of a professional Mentor. As part of participation in the programme, there is also an invaluable opportunity to build an international network of industry contacts.
