Spectroplast AG, the Silicone Additive Manufacturing Spinoff from the university ETH Zurich, just completed a €1.38 million seed funding round led by the Munich-based investor AM Ventures. The investment supports Spectroplast in scaling up its Silicone 3D Printing service and will enable the startup to further strengthen its position as a leader in 3D Printing of pure Silicones for life-enhancing and life-saving products. Customized Silicone healthcare products are a key area of focus for Spectroplast, who’s mission is to have a positive impact on the needs of patients today.
AM Ventures is an independent strategic investor which has established an ecosystem consisting of sustainable strategic investments and a strong partner network to utilize additive manufacturing technologies.
“Spectroplast’s introduction of Silicones to the world of Additive Manufacturing is well-timed with a rapidly growing demand for customized Silicone products observed not only in the healthcare sector but also in many other markets,” said Johann Oberhofer, Chief Technology Officer at AM Ventures.

Spectroplast AG was incorporated in September 2018. Throughout its short existence, the company’s innovation in Silicone 3D Printing has been honored by several awards, including the CES Asia Innovation Award.
