British website builder BaseKit lands $6.5 million to help small businesses

BaseKit, the Chepstow and London-based web development platform, has just received $6.5 million from Eden Ventures, Nauta Capital and NESTA.

The young company was founded in 2008 and has so far raised $10 million in total. Perfect for small businesses without a tech team or programmer, there are no programming skills needed to build websites with BaseKit. The software is based on a flexible layout structure and allows users to create a site directly from a Photoshop design, or customise pre-made site themes to get online faster.

In addition to the startup’s offices in Chepstow and London, BaseKit will open new offices in Sao Paolo, Mexico, Buenos Aires, San Francisco and Barcelona in the near future.
