This week we interviewed Martin Poreda, the CEO of Vienna-based kununu, the employer rating platform. Now we’ve just heard another sign of life from the Austrian capital – the launch of Diagnosia, a startup that wants to become “Europeʻs premier drug search engine”.
The young medical search company was founded in 2010 and is seed funded by private investors and the Austria Wirtschafts Service (AWS). With Diagnosia, patients and physicians are able to look up medicine information for free. The website currently supports 22 languages, meaning it’s accessible for a wider audience across Europe and beyond.
The startup was founded by Eric Pfarl, Stefan Weixelbaumer, Dr. Lukas Zinnagl, Dr. Fritz Höllerer and Marco Vitula. According to this team, the fresh funding is in the six-figure-region. So far there are plans to offer aggregated and anonymous data to the drugs industry, and develop tools and services for pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies.
