Today Doktor.se, a leading digital healthcare provider, announces a funding boost of €50 million to expand its services and provide safe and accessible healthcare for all.
Doktor.se is one of Sweden’s largest providers of digital healthcare, with physical healthcare clinics across the country, and digital platform operations across the world. In 2020 over 1.2 million patient consultations were carried out through its app or its physical clinics.
The company is rapidly expanding internationally, building on its success in Sweden where it is used by one tenth of the population. The new funds will be used to develop its technical platform to offer new and improved services for mental health and chronic illnesses and to expand its digital operations and physical clinics to meet growing demand. Doktor.se is also looking to expand further into new markets and to investigate strategic acquisitions.
The funding round included institutional investors Consensus Asset Management, Norron and Skabholmen Invest, among others. Due to high demand from new and existing investors, early Doktor.se investor Oriola Corporation agreed to sell a part of their shares on top of the new capital. Oriola remains one of the largest shareholders in Doktor.se.

The company also plans to keep expanding its digi-physical services by acquiring physical healthcare services to integrate into its digital platforms.
Amid a surge in digital healthcare, hugely accelerated by the pandemic, Doktor.se is the second most downloaded doctor app in Europe, according to app analytics tool Appfigures. By the end of 2021, the Swedish company aims to be providing its digital health services in more than seven countries by end of 2021.
The company recently began operations in Belgium in a partnership with Proximus Group, one of Belgium’s main providers of digital services and communication solutions. Doktor.se previously established partnerships with ViBE, the largest digital healthcare provider in Brazil and AniCura, a digital vet app available across the Nordics.
