Krakow-based employee development platform HCM Deck raises €2.8 million following 100% YoY growth

Krakow-based HCM Deck is an HR SaaS enterprise platform that lets companies manage, automate and analyze employee development in three key areas — learning, communication and feedback, by combining complex enterprise processes with user experience, automation, and data analytics. Founded in 2016, we featured HCM Deck as one of the top 10 Polish startups to look out for in 2019. The startup has been experiencing 100% year-on-year growth, and has just raised a round of €2.8 million.

The new round is led by mAccelerator, a €50 million venture capital fund focusing on post-seed and Series A investments in startups with innovative technological solutions.

“When we saw HCM Deck, we immediately knew it’s a brilliant product,” said Wojciech Chmielewski, an investor at mAccelerator. “With a holistic approach towards Human Capital Management addressing all the employee development needs, HCM Deck is a comprehensive solution that can benefit any larger organization.”

HCM Deck was founded by Simon Janicki (CEO) and Rafal Niesluchowski (CTO) who have more than 16 years of experience in HR and Learning and Development space. Before HCM Deck, they together built MyNetwork, one of the biggest e-learning companies in Europe.

“The experience and a deep understanding of enterprise learning & development market helped us build HCM Deck with success and almost instant product-market fit,” said Niesluchowski.

HCM Deck is committed to creating new L&D experience that increases productivity and engagement in large organizations. Their software is already used by more than 150,000 employees of such big companies as Allianz, Leroy Merlin, OBI, Volkswagen, Nationale Nederlanden. The startup closed its next round of funding after just 14 months since its first pre-seed round in 2016, which was led by Innovation Nest, which also participated in the current round.

“When we first met the founders there was instant chemistry,” said Marcin Szelag, Partner at Innovation Nest. “We quickly decided to back them on the journey to replace legacy software in the HR space. In the last few months, the company has shown tremendous growth and we are very excited about the future. We are also happy to be joined by mAccelerator in this latest funding round.”

“By combining enterprise features with positive user experience, automation, and data analytics, we meet the most important needs of big companies, L&D departments and modern-day employees,” said Niesluchowski.
