Ticketea, a Madrid-based DIY ticketing platform, has just secured $4 million in a Series B round of funding, led by Seaya Ventures. The fresh capital will be used by Ticketea to create new products in the space of mobile commerce, to strengthen its leading position in Spain, and for an international expansion.
Ticketea was founded in 2010 and has recently stated that it is already profitable. Since its foundation, Ticketea has sold $26 million worth of tickets through its platform – in over 10 Spanish speaking countries. The fremium service of Ticketea is designed to help small and medium size event organizers to promote their activities and sell their tickets.
