Czech social media analytics company Socialbakers just announced that it has acquired the Croatian startup SocialBrando (Update – March 2023: The startup seems to be no longer in business under this website, and we therefore deactivated the original link). The company will incorporate SocialBrando’s Facebook advertising platform and team, thus making it Socialbakers’ tenth international office. Rocket Internet-backed Glossybox, a beauty box service which sends regular packages of products to subscribers, is celebrating that it just sent it’s 2 million(th) box. In the 18 months since it started operations, the Berlin-based startup has launched in 16 countries and employs more than 300 staff, while receiving €55 million in funding. PayPal has announced it is working with social gifting service Wrapp to try and win new customers in Sweden (Update – March 2023: The startup seems to be no longer in business under this website, and we therefore deactivated the original link). Throughout December and January PayPal will be adding SEK 49 ($7.35) to gift cards paid for through the mobile payments service instead of a credit card. Wrapp allows you to give Facebook friends a virtual gift card, whereby other friends can also contribute to increase the value of the card. Read the full article on WSJ Europe.
Adspert (Bidmanagement), a bid management tool for Google AdWords campaigns, has raised funding from the ProFIT finance programme, (IBB). The amount is being disclosed as a 7-figure financing. Targeting the SEM departments of companies or their agencies, Adspert aims to help “optimize and fully automate” AdWords accounts. Visit TechCrunch to read more.
