Textmaster-logoTextMaster, the crowd-sourced platform for content translation, copywriting, and proofreading, has raised its first funding round: €1.64 million from the French VC fund Alven Capital, in addition to business angels. socialbakers-logoSocialbakers, one of the world’s leading social analytics firms, has raised $6 million of new funding from Index Ventures, joined by existing investor Earlybird Capital (Update – March 2023: The startup seems to be no longer in business under this website, and we therefore deactivated the original link). The funds will be used for further expansion and product development. Socialbakers was founded 2009 in Prague and offers businesses a range of tools to track their – and competitors’ – social media engagement. vevo-logoVevo, the second most popular video site in the US, has broadened its European expansion with launches in France, Spain and Italy after kicking-off its expansion last year in the UK. Given that Vevo was founded from a partnership between the music majors Universal and Sony, YouTube and Abu Dhabi Media Company, their positioning focuses on licensed music content. SocialBro-logoSocialBro has raised €500K to analyze tweets thanks to the startup’s cloud solution, which provides tools that corporations, brands, and agencies can use to ramp up user engagement, grow their user base, and maybe even find monetization possibilities in their social networks.
