Just-Eat, the Denmark-founded company operating online takeaway sites has announced a €48 million C-round investment led by Vitruvian Partners. Former Just-Eat investors Index Partners, Greylock Partners and Redpoint Ventures also took part in the round. Berlin-based startup orderbird has closed its second round of funding worth more than €2.7 million. Investment firm ALSTIN took part in the round for the restaurant payment service, which will eventually allow users to order food and drink directly from their smartphones. Swedish social gifting app Wrapp announced today that they are launching in the US with some big retail partners including The Gap, H+M and Sephora (Update – February 2023: The website seems to be out of use, and we therefore deactivated the original link). The startup, which allows Facebook users to give free and paid gift cards to their Facebook friends, launched in Sweden in November 2011, and has acquired over 180,000 users since then. Last week, the Aulery award ceremony for Central and Eastern European tech startups took place in Poland, Sopot (near Gdansk).
