German 3D-chat-service, Club Cooee, lands fresh funds

The German startup that’s taking socialising online, Club Cooee, just completed a round of financing. Classed as a ‘3D chat startup’, users can log on with an avatar version of themselves to enjoy an online world, socialising and interacting with others.

The list of investors includes Generis Capital Partners and Innoven Partenaires from France. The startup is based in Kaiserslautern (Germany). The amount of the cash injection is not disclosed yet.

Club Cooee was founded in 2007 by Alexander Jorias and Ingo Frick. In this online world, the mostly young users can meet other people in a 3D-environment and share movies, music and images together. The startup’s monetization strategy includes the sale of virtual goods.
