sigo

sigo is a start-up based in Darmstadt that operates shared e-cargo bikes. With its inductive charging stations, the company is one of the first Germany-wide providers of a fully automatic e-cargo bike system. Special cargo bikes adapted to rental were developed for the sharing operation: high-quality technology, robust, easy to use. The bikes are charged inductively at a stationary charging station so that they are quickly available. Thanks to an app, lending is not tied to opening times. sigo runs a B2B2C business model, which is aimed at end users on the one hand and partners such as the housing industry, municipalities, institutions, local public transport, energy suppliers and project developers on the other. The sharing model makes quarters more attractive for tenants, parking spaces become obsolete and ultimately the use of the sigo cargo bike helps to calm down the cities and protect the climate. The company was founded in May 2017 by Tobias Lochen. In February 2020, the first location in Darmstadt was opened in cooperation with Nassauische Heimstätte. The roll-out of other locations then started, e.g. B. in Bochum, Hanover, Solingen and Wiesbaden. Further stations are being implemented.
