Alicante-based 1MillionBot raises €1.5 million to develop more educational and marketing chatbots

Just founded in 2018, Alicante, Spain-based 1MillionBot develops specialized chatbots for different sectors, which can integrate with various applications including Facebook Messenger, Telegram, and Google Assistant. The startup has recently raised €1.5 million, in a round which did not come from a VC, but rather from individual investors active in the field of AI, virtual assistants, and chatbots.

1MillonBot’s chatbots can be used for digital marketing, internal communication, education and the dissemination of information for institutions, customer support, as well as leads and big data. The startup guarantees a 90% accuracy rate in chatbot responses, interacting with users through both text and voice messages. Over the last year, 1MillonBot has developed different chatbots for different sectors including banks, universities, and local governments. The startup is developing more options, for example a virtual butler that can efficiently manage a house or hotel room.

1MillionBot’s most recent chatbot for sexual health, which is still in beta, uses natural language processing and deep learning techniques to provide users with real-time sexual and reproductive health information.

So far, 1MillionBot’s most successful chatbots have been those created to facilitate enrollment in universities. The University of Murcia, the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the Complutense University of Madrid already use 1MillonBot chatbots, and 15 more Spanish universities are planning to incorporate its chatbots.
