On May 9-10 we’ll be hosting the 10th edition of the EU-Startups Summit in sunny Malta! The event will bring together founders, startup enthusiasts, and investors for a dynamic two-day experience filled with networking opportunities, inspirational talks, and learning sessions.
Our annual Pitch Competition showcases Europe’s top seed and pre-seed startups. This year, we were amazed to receive almost 1,500 applications from exceptionally exciting startups. After a thorough evaluation process, we selected 15 finalists. These startups will come together in Malta to compete for the chance to win a remarkable prize package valued at €390k and claim the title of Pitch Competition Champion!

The Jury
The selected teams will receive valuable feedback from a jury of well-known venture capital investors. This year’s judging panel includes Pekka Mäki (3TS Capital), Melissa Donohoe (Notion Capital), Massimiliano Magrini (United Ventures) and Angelo Burgarello (Look AI Ventures).
Aside from the VC jury, we will have about 300 other investors (including VCs, accelerators, and business angels) participating in this year’s EU-Startups Summit. Many of them will follow the pitch competition, and you can actively network with them during the event.
The Finalists
Aino: Founded in 2023 and based in Barcelona, offers an AI-powered tool for urban consultants, data analysts, and spatial planners to gain insights from spatial data without requiring engineering skills. Their software transforms data questions into interactive maps, charts, and graphs to make the process easier while saving time on data analysis and visualisation.
Aisthesis Medical: Founded in 2022 in the UK they are committed to advancing healthcare outcomes and optimising cost efficiency through AI clinical decision support software. They focus on delivering high-impact solutions tailored to the intensive care and critical care sectors. Their innovative product, VIOSync, proactively predicts sepsis and hypotension, two critical health risks affecting millions globally.
AxonJay: Founded in 2021 in Brussels, AxonJay developed a unique Self-Machine-Learning Platform. This platform reveals and predicts companies’ true behaviour in real time. Their mission is to make AI and machine learning more accessible and easier to use for businesses of any size. The Self-Machine-Learning Platform analyses real-time, trusted, and global data sources, generating thousands of signals that identify trends in company behaviour.
Bakksy: Originally founded in Ukraine in 2022 and now based in Tallinn, Bakksy is a Fintech investment app dedicated to helping users learn how to invest, achieve their financial goals, and use their invested money for daily purchases without needing to sell their assets. Their mission is to offer a tool that helps build a more conscious and responsible future while making investing easier.
Cellstack: Founded in 2023, this Berlin-based start-up makes reusing lithium-ion batteries safer for a cleaner and more sustainable world. They are reimagining battery management by incorporating the latest advances in AI. Their software enables the understanding of the state of health, detection of anomalies, and measurement of the remaining valuable life of retired lithium-ion batteries more conveniently and affordably.
Good With: Founded in 2021 and based in Cornwall, Good With is a financial well-being app, built by psychologists with the mission to alleviate financial stress and anxiety. Their Gen-Z’s personal money and mental health AI-Coach offer science and psychology-backed financial guidance catered to users’ needs. They aim to empower people to make savvy financial decisions, improving their sense of well-being and building money confidence in the process.
Litech: Founded in 2021 in Oslo, Litech is on a mission to detect incorrectly sorted batteries in fragmented waste streams and avoid the negative consequences that follow. Their solution combines the latest research with industry knowledge to create an innovative cutting-edge sensor for waste treatment, by detecting and collecting lithium and lithium-ion batteries.
resourcly: Based in Germany, resourcly aims to build the global #1 shared inventory for circular supply chains, enabling manufacturers to stabilize supply chains, improve working capital, and prevent waste through inter-industry collaboration. By leveraging generative AI and technological expertise, they help businesses share unutilized inventory, find compliant resources, and measure impact in terms of waste saved, resources reused, and emissions reduced.
Nora AI: Founded in 2023 and based in Tallinn, Nora AI aims to revolutionise antiviral drug discovery by leveraging AI to focus on host cells, speeding up research, reducing costs, and targeting a broad spectrum of viruses with potential for high clinical success. This innovative approach addresses the limitations of traditional drug development, offering new hope against rapidly mutating viruses.
Sendance: Founded in 2021, this Austrian startup created human-centric, innovative sensor technology. This enables wearable device manufacturers to improve their customers’ quality of life with objective data regarding device fit, usage, and functionality, as well as health and activity parameters. Their sensor grids are found in orthotics and prosthetics, integrated into wearables to track sports performance and much more.
SkoneLabs: Founded in 2023 in the city of Berlin, is on a mission to monitor food quality and combat food loss and wastage in the fresh food industry by leveraging IoT and AI technologies. Their proprietary plug-and-play smart sensor technology, combined with machine learning, offers an easy-to-implement solution for reducing food loss by accurately predicting when food is likely to spoil.
Soource: Founded in 2023 in Italy, Soource automates global procurement by using AI to source and negotiate with thousands of suppliers, streamlining the process to secure the best market solutions efficiently. It enables procurement managers to manage supplier transactions and obtain optimal conditions through an extensive, automated platform.
tulanā: Founded in Berlin in 2023, tulanā provides software that offers intelligent decision support for planning functions in production. By using the latest AI techniques, tulanā optimally balances demand to be met, inventory costs, and limited resource availability, all while taking into account the complexities of manufacturing processes.
Vivid Mind: Established in 2022 in Warsaw, Vivid Mind uses AI technologies to analyse voice nuances to identify potential signs of neurodegenerative diseases. Their mission is to ensure individuals with dementia can access early detection services and comprehensive medical care, paving the way for timely treatment and support.
Voovo: Based in Budapest and founded in 2021, generates flashcards from anatomy diagrams, textbooks, and notes using AI, OCR, and their unique features. Through their technology, users can create 150+ flashcards in under 30 seconds. They aim to revolutionise the way of learning by utilising the power of spaced repetition and active recall with digital flashcards, without the struggle of creating them.
