Barcelona-based Domma snaps €950k to digitise support during menopausal transition

Domma, a menopause research, treatment and support startup, has closed a financing round of €950k, between a capital increase and debt, which highlights the growth and potential of the company.

The operation has been led by Secways and has once again included the participation of Antai Ventures. Likewise, the Barcelona company has had the support of different strategic business angels with experience in the sector and with the support of ENISA.

“The funding round will allow us to continue fighting the stigma of menopause so that women can experience this stage of changes in the best possible way, providing support, information and solutions adapted to the individual needs of each woman,” said Cristina Martinez, Co-Founder of Domma.

The funds obtained in this financing round will be used to promote the growth of the company founded in 2022 by Barcelona-born Cristina Martínez and Mireia Roca. The capital raised will allow the promotion of scientific research and the development of new biotechnological solutions to improve the health of women in adulthood and to commit to the digitalization of support during the menopausal transition. Also to launch new channels to reach more consumers.

Eduardo Salvo, partner at Antai Ventures, commented: “We believe that the work that Domma is doing to generate content and act as a speaker is essential to eliminate the taboo around menopause. It is a luxury to be able to continue supporting the founders of Domma since its inception and we hope to continue doing so for much longer. They are a very committed team with a unique vision on how to improve the quality of life of women during menopause.”

The company relies on scientific research to develop new non-invasive treatments that manage to alleviate the physical and emotional symptoms resulting from the hormonal imbalance of menopause. As of today, Domma is made up of a team of 10 people and has its headquarters in Barcelona.

Mireia Roca, Co-Founder of Domma, added: “It is key to normalize the entire menopausal transition process to experience it as the natural process that it is. But we do not have to normalize suffering with the symptoms or resign ourselves to the discomfort. More than 95% of Women will feel some of the most common physical and emotional symptoms – irritability, hot flashes, insomnia, sweating, dryness… – that are the result of hormonal imbalance and that can be alleviated with the scientifically based natural alternatives that we have developed at Domma.”
