“From Idea to Global Success”: Silicon Castles’ Masterclass at this year’s EU-Startups Summit!

As one of our Sponsors for this year’s EU-Startups Summit, Silicon Castles will take to the workshop stage to host the masterclass: “From Idea to Global Success”. Providing all the actionable insights you need to scale a successful global tech company – it’s sure to be a standout event during the Summit!

Silicon Castles is a tech company builder and strategic business accelerator that focuses on “European Diamonds”  – tech startups that have a unique business idea solving a real problem, use scalable tech and outstanding intellectual property. The aim is to help European startups make the leap from having great tech and talent to becoming global success stories.

In this Masterclass, Founder and CEO Andreas Spechtler, will come together with senior partners in the Silicon Castles network, Catherine Ogilvie, Founder of Ogilvie Brand Consultants, Mahesh Sundaram, Chief Commercial Officer of Authentic Vision, and David Kinsella, CEO of djk legal, to share their expertise on how to define the right company strategy, how to tell a compelling company story, how to successfully sell on a global scale and how to close a deal.

With over 25 years of experience in the global technology and licensing business, digital entertainment, international marketing, sales and operations on an international scale at Sony and Dolby, Andreas will demonstrate how to successfully build up a startup from the idea to global success using the “Tower for Success“. Since 2017, Andreas has been fully dedicated to helping startups to grow and startup executives to become world-class performers. He will be able to look back on his many years of startup and incubation experience both inside and outside of corporations.

Catherine Ogilvie, the Senior Marketing Advisor at Silicon Castles and Founder of Ogilvie Brand Consultants, will bring her 30+ years of experience in global marketing and communications to the masterclass. She will share her expertise on how to put together a compelling and authentic company story that will provide the essential backbone for startups‘ communication strategy and messaging for both internal and external audiences. A clear marketing and brand strategy is a fundamental part of a startup’s roadmap, and with experience working with the likes of  Harrods, Motorola, Napster and Dolby, Catherine has incredibly valuable insights to share and experiences to draw on during this masterclass.

The masterclass will also take a deep dive into selling on a global scale. Senior Strategic Advisor for Global Growth at Silicon Castles and the CCO of Authentic Vision, Mahesh Sundaram will share his key learnings, common misconceptions and best practices in technology sales, as well as how sales management evolves as a startup grows. Mahesh has been serving as a sales and marketing exec in the mobility and consumer electronics market for over 20 years in companies such as Intel and Dolby. He will explore the dynamics at play in sales for tech companies on a global scale – looking at the process from knowing customers to gaining access to them to finally closing the deal.

After the masterclass explores the theory of growing global brands, takes a look at the importance of brand and communication, before diving deep into the importance of sales strategy, there will be a final look at “the art of deal making”, reflecting that ultimately, startups need to step up to the expectation that investors have – seeing real commercial licensing agreements to validate their investment. Commercial licensing agreements represent the bedrock of a successful startup but may fail to realize their true potential without the right structure and scheme in place. David Kinsella, General Counsel of Silicon Castles and CEO of djk legal, will share his expertise on how to ensure that startups generate solid revenues based on a four-step approach to contract management and properly organized contracts. With over 17 years of experience as a legal practitioner both in private practice and in-house in technology, media, and entertainment, David has worked for Taylor Wessing, Siemens, Fujitsu, Sony and Dolby.

This masterclass has an incredible lineup of entrepreneurs taking part and will leave attendees with a wealth of knowledge, primed and ready to take their startups to global heights. Catherine, Andreas, Mahesh and David are four inspirational innovators and we are very much looking forward to this event highlight.
