Liege-based IoT-D raises €1 million to grow its remote medicine spin-out Dermatoo

Based in Belgium, IoT-D has successfully raised €1 million after a first round dedicated to accelerating the growth of Dermatoo, its first spin-off, active in the remote medicine industry since 2018.

Dermatoo offers medical solutions designed to facilitate the monitoring of patients and healthcare professionals’ interventions, thanks to advanced sharing of medical observations. Initiated by IoT-D, the project is supported by experts and investors from the healthcare industry and has already generated marks of interest among foreign firms.

As Julien Delarbre, IoT-D’s CEO, explains: “We believe that the medicine of the future should make the life of healthcare professionals easier, by offering them smart solutions for a better management of care services. Beyond optimizing the administrative costs of care, our technology helps enhance the relationship between patient and professionals by suppressing time-consuming tasks and putting patients at the centre of medical attention.”

Closed thanks to NOSHAQ, private investors and the Walloon Region’s support for innovation, this first round will help Dermatoo reinforce the team and put its first devices to use. “NOSHAQ is delighted to support this new project, carried by such a motivated team, with ambitious goals to develop the next generation of remote medicine solutions”, added Gaëtan Servais, CEO of Noshaq.

“We are happy to count on the support of Noshaq and its team; a major player within the Biotech and Medtech ecosystems. They are a comprehensive interlocutor that understands very well the businesses they invest in. In the future, we want to play an active part in the growth product of our region by leading several high economic potential ventures”, concluded IoT-D’s CEO Julien Delarbre.
