Aircall, the online phone system built for teams, today announced that it closed a seed investment round of $2.75 million, led by Balderton Capital. The young company, founded in 2014 in Paris, will use this funding to accelerate its growth in both European and US markets, and to reinforce its team.
Aircall has built a business phone system that can be deployed in seconds. The system does not rely on hardware such as desk-phones, and instead deploys via an app. Users can download this app to their own devices, such as computers, tablets or mobile phones. Additionally, Aircall integrates with all other business software, including Salesforce, Zendesk, Pipedrive and Slack.
According to aircall, thousands of customer service, sales or marketing teams, in companies like Uber or Deliveroo, already use Aircall daily to deliver outstanding customer experience and help employees increase their productivity on phone calls.
Olivier Pailhes, Aircall’s cofounder and CEO, states: “We’re experiencing such a high level of demand from customers that we want to double the team over the next 4-6 months, and accelerate the pace we’re adding features to our product”.
Aircall was founded within the startup studio eFfounders and recently graduated from the 500Startups accelerator in San Francisco. Right now, Aircall is actively hiring both in its San Francisco and Paris office. Balderton Capital led the round, along with selected US-based angels and FundersClub.
Bernhard Liautaud, General Partner at Balderton Capital, says: “Aircall has the potential to transform the business telephony industry through an innovative app-based, collaboration-oriented software. It eliminates the need for traditional phone systems for businesses of any size, and neatly integrates phone communication with companies’ software infrastructures. The company is on a very fast ramp, and we are excited to be able to help grow the company globally”.
