ZipJet, Rocket Internet’s new laundry service, launched in London today. The new startup is aimed at liberating Londoners from the tedious task of laundry – their job is to pick your dirty clothing whenever and wherever you like and return them fresh and clean within 24 hours.

Along SpaceWays (a self storage service) and EatFirst (a food delivery service), ZipJet is the third service-startup of Rocket Internet that has been launched in the last four months in London, making its service available initially in Camden, City of London, Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster.

Since in England roughly 4% of households have no washing machine and that statistic increases to 10% in households with one inhabitant, the need for a service like this is obvious. As such, ZipJet not only saves time, but lowers costs as well.

Apart from picking up, washing and returning clothes back, ZipJet offers dry cleaning as well as a wash & fold option. ZipJet’s 30-minute booking slots allow flexibility and precision for pickup and delivery times and the service is open from 6am to 10pm seven days a week. Additionally, as presented, users will be able to check the status of their order at any time with their smartphones. Plus, there will be options for making special requests as well.

Dr. Marco Sperling, Co-Founder of ZipJet says: “Behind ZipJet there is a big mission. We all lead busy lives whether we work, study or manage a family. We’re all short on time and too much domestic work keeps us from doing what we love. Saving our customers time for things in life that really matter is what drives us.
