Skyscanner acquires London-based traveltech startup Zoombu

London-based travel startup Zoombu was recently bought by the Edinburgh-based travel company Skyscanner (Update – December 2022: The startup seems to be no longer in business and we therefore deactivated the link).

Zoombu was founded in 2008 and specializes in linking up trains, buses and airline time tables. For this reason, the startup fits perfectly into the airline ticket-seller Skyscanner’s portfolio, which may expand into other transport options in the future.

After the acquisition, both of Zoombu’s co-founders, Alistair Hann and Rachel Armitage, will work at Skyscanner’s head office in Edinburgh, Scotland.
