Your mission

As a UX/UI designer at Labster’s Product circle, you will be responsible for shaping Labster UX and UI strategy across different teams and departments, with the main focus on designing and improving our web-based products, such as the Builder (online simulation editor), the Labster App, and different dashboards for educators and students. You will work closely with our Software Engineers and Product Owners to create new products and features, taking the user-centered design approach.
You will also be advocating and evangelizing about UX principles and the importance of user-centered approach in product design by organizing workshops and training sessions with relevant stakeholders.  At last but not least, you will be leading user research activities that will help us better understand how different users experience Labster’s products, in order to make the learning process more intuitive, engaging and effective.

Your responsibilities

Run user tests and user workshops with diverse  user groups to gather user needs and requirements for design.
Translate gathered user data into actionable insights.
Combine insights, business requirements, etc. to design user flows, mock ups, lo-fi and hi-fi prototypes
Use various data sources and user research methods to test and validate design ideas, concepts and prototypes.
Promote design-thinking and UX design within Labster through running internal workshops and events focused on design, actively educating the team, etc.

Your profile

You have min. 4  years of experience working with UX/UI in a product company, preferably gained within ed-tech industry.
Knowledge of holistic UI/UX (UI, visual design, system architectures, user testing) and how it functions in product development teams.
You have knowledge and experience in qualitative and quantitative user research methods.
A solid grasp of user-centered design, planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.
Ability and proven experience in conducting workshops, training session and presentations that will help others to implement UX approaches in their daily work.
Expertise in UX software such as Adobe (Photoshop and Illustrator), Axure, InVision, UXPin, Balsamiq, Framer, etc.
Familiarity with Agile Product development and lean UX methods.
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and distributed teams.
Ability to synthesize abstract ideas into concrete design implications.
Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
You have a good eye for visual design and ability to use visual design principles in your sketches/prototypes.
You are passionate about science and/or education and truly believe in our mission and values.
