The Private Tax team at EY acts for a wide range of entrepreneurial, owner managed, PE backed and AIM listed businesses together with their shareholders, in addition to family offices, private equity and hedge fund principals, large landed estates and high-profile professional partnerships. We aim to be trusted advisers to our clients and deliver a broad range of tax advisory services, including cash tax savings and value creation, reorganisations, international tax advisory, transactions and ongoing maintenance of the tax structure of our clients.

 

The opportunity: This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join EY’s specialist Private Tax team based in Luton that has a broad scope of tax work to be involved with. Our Luton team members have had the opportunity to work with different size clients, from start-ups to global enterprises. They have worked on deals valued at 1bn and have been given a range of opportunities that means their personal careers have progressed rapidly, resulting in our team members being promoted to senior positions within EY. The team in Luton undertakes “mixed” tax work meaning you will be trained on both compliance-based work as well as tax planning. This means that anyone joining the Luton team will become a well-rounded and experienced tax professional. As your career progresses you will discover an area of Tax you would like to become a specialist and EY have the tools to ensure you will become the go to person in the local market.

 

The team: The Luton office is home to over 200 staff members working across different service lines. The Luton Tax Team is part of that structure and has an excellent reputation in the marketplace.

Your key responsibilities: Build and maintain relationships with clients. Proactive business development to win new work. Support of the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding consulting projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical / business focused approach taken What are we looking for? Technical and practical knowledge and experience in a range of corporate tax areas that may include tax compliance and tax audit work to wider advisory and structuring work.  Experience in more specialised areas of corporate tax such as capital allowances, international tax, transfer pricing would also be of interest. Strategically and commercially aware. Strong client relationship management skills with ability to develop quality outputs to clients. Ability to solve the complex needs of your client. Effective time management, ability to remain calm when under pressure to meet deadlines. Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral. Enthusiastic team player with ability to create, sustain and manage effective teams. Ensure delivery of quality work and take day to day responsibility of delivery team.

 

To qualify for the role you must have. ACA / CA / Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training course / Law qualification / Tax specialist qualification / or breadth of knowledge equivalent to a Tax specialist qualification. Strong tax technical skills.
