Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure team is building new Security Inspection technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best in class infrastructure security.

Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development

Job Responsibilities:

As a Principal Member of Technical Staff you will own the support the software engineering and automation of the Defensive Security organization within Oracle Cloud. This organization is responsible for protecting Oracle Cloud and its customers from attacks. You should be both a rock solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. This role requires that you currently possess an active SC clearance.

Position Overview

We are looking for strong Security Engineers to take on the challenge of engineering Security Infrastructure solutions for scale and performance while providing strong guarantees of availability to our customers. Your team will have diverse expertise in systems, networking, and software development to provide the stability, performance and reliability our customers need. You will build tools to address hard network and system problems while enabling our service developers to remain agile and deliver feature changes. You will deliver the solutions that directly contribute to our customer’s success.

Candidate Profile

  • Proficient in shell scripting
  • Capable writing tools with a language such as Python, Perl, or Ruby
  • Experience building secure Internet facing systems in hostile environments
  • Experience with configuration management solutions such as Chef, Puppet, Cfengine, etc
  • Proficient in Linux administration and troubleshooting
  • Capable of fault, crash dump, packet capture analysis
  • Familiarity interacting with SOA, Web Services, Microservices, etc
  • Experience with Elastic Stack, Splunk, ArcSight, or other security analytics technologies
  • Experience with Security Orchestration and Automated Response frameworks such as Demisto or ServiceNow
  • 5+ years of systems administration within large scale server environments
  • 3+ years managing host virtualization technologies (KVM, K8s, Containers, Docker, etc)
  • Active SC clearance

Top Skillsets

  • Experience with Python, Java, and GoLang development
  • 3+ years experience with ELK, Splunk, ArcSight, and other SIEM and analytics platforms
  • 4+ years managing host virtualization technologies (KVM, K8s, Containers, Docker, etc)

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
