Description
Welcome to Geckoboard! As our Lead UX Designer you’ll play a pivotal role shaping the future of our product. Combining user-centered design, creative thinking, and your experience of working on technically complex products, you will be helping our customers visualize and communicate their most important business data!
Right now you are probably working in a B2B or similar environment, leading all aspects of the user experience on a technically complex product.
As Lead UX Designer at Geckoboard, you’ll play a key role in one of our biggest projects to date, working with our product, engineering and design teams to completely re-imagine how users both get their data into Geckoboard, and then build visualisations from that data.
We’re obsessed with deeply understanding a problem so that we find the best solution, not the first solution. We don’t try to reinvent the wheel for the sake of it, but we’re also not afraid of doing something new when it’s needed. We believe that our greatest achievement is building a great product, and want you to join us on our journey!
What we are looking for
As our Lead UX Designer you will be someone who:
- Champions the user above all else.
- Has experience working closely with developers in a lean / agile environment. Â
- Leads workshops with the team to explore problems and suggest solutions.
- Runs user research sessions to identify needs and improvements.
- Creates elegant and intuitive solutions, that have a meaningful impact on the user experience.
- Can give (and receive!) constructive feedback.
- Has an infectious enthusiasm for building products users love!
It's not essential, but it would be great if you also had experience of:
- HTML, CSS and JS as we do some prototyping in code.
We believe excellent design and placing the user at the heart of everything we do is critical for our ongoing success. As our Lead UX Designer you’ll have the chance to be hugely influential in shaping the future of Geckoboard.
Reporting to our Lead Designer, you’ll also work closely with our Product Managers to identify opportunities to improve the product, and get hands on with the Development Team to implement and iterate on your solutions.
As part of the application process please attach, or include a link to, your portfolio. We want to see your methodology, your internal process, examples of projects you’ve worked on, and how you tackle technically complex problems.
Thousands of businesses use Geckoboard to build live TV Dashboards that focus teams on what matters. We take the complexity out of connecting data and make it simple for anyone to understand key metrics at a glance. Some of our customers include Airbnb, Slack, and Skyscanner.
The role is based in our London office.
