Geckomatics is a fast-growing startup that is changing the world of mapping. We created a custom camera based and AI powered mobile mapping system that helps companies and organizations update their maps. From litter to traffic sign mapping, we help cities and ports to become a better version of themselves.
In order to make sense of the terabytes of new map data, we created our very own web based GIS application. Using Mapbox customers can analyze and query thousands of detected objects and other mapping data. For this exciting challenge, we are looking for a Full-Stack Web Developer to join our Antwerp office located in the IoT startup hub The Beacon. You will be responsible for handling huge amounts of street-view imagery, videos and geographical data.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Solve exciting challenges visualizing & processing huge amounts of mapping data
- Improve the user experience of our product, focusing on adding functionality
- Help prioritize customer requests and translate them into product features
- Work closely with Data Scientists to integrate AI/Machine Learning solutions
Requirements
ESSENTIAL:
- Solid programming skills and interest in software engineering
- Good understanding of front-end technologies (ES6, HTML5, CSS3,...)
- Ability to work independently with a positive and inquisitive (R&D-oriented) mindset
- Full professional fluency in English
- Experience in at least one major programming language (Java, Python, Scala, Go,...)
NICE TO HAVE:
- Knowledge of Python
- Experience with Google Maps/Mapbox applications
- Experience with front-end frameworks such as Vue.js or React
