Role:

  • Providing advice and support on the provision of new products and services in Germany
  • Drafting legal documentation for internal stakeholders, senior management and regulatory authorities
  • Working collaboratively with Legal colleagues, other business and Corporate stakeholders in multiple jurisdictions

We are looking for a

  • German qualified lawyer, with at least 5 years post-qualification experience in a top law firm and / or in-house financial services Legal team
  • Broad knowledge of law and regulations governing the provision of banking and investment products and services in Germany to retail consumers
  • Quality product, technical, legal and other risk awareness skills and an ability to work across a broad set of products and services
  • Strong knowledge of ECB / BaFin supervisory regime for German authorised credit institutions and investment firms

Previous experience in the following areas will help in this role

  • bull; Banking products and associated banking / payments regulation (CRD IV, PSD II, KWG, ZAG)
  • bull; Retail investment services and associated regulation (MiFID, WpHG, DepotG)
  • bull; Working in or advising a German credit institution, preferably in relation to consumer services
  • bull; Advising on changes of control or other applications / interactions with regulators, including BaFin
  • bull; Experience of advising clients who operate digital service delivery channels
