Shimejito Urban Farming

Shimejito has developed micro precision system for agriculture. Our business model is based on an automated IoT system that enables decentralization of indoor mushroom cultivation. Through the proprietary substrate formula and sales marketplace we are able to generate high-efficiency production with 500kg per month in just 70m2 and put the farmer in direct contact with the end consumer, therefore, breaking the traditional chain and generating a better profit margin for our urban farmers. Usually, the mushroom reaches the consumer's table in less than 24 hours after harvest.
We are able to deliver a better quality product with a price up to 20% cheaper than what is found on the market today. Our production chain is 100% circular economy generating no waste and with the urbanization of our farms, we create new jobs for cities enabling positive social impact for the local population.

We received EMBRAPA innovation award and startup of the day at the web summit. In 6 months of operation of our MVP we have more than 110 thousand reais and with growing demand of 100% per month. We have been approved by the European Startup Visa as a global impact company and we are in the process of expanding into Latin America, Europe, and North America.
