Niirly

Niirly was founded in 2020 by Nicolai Busekist and Charlotte Skovmand out of a desire to change the way people meet online and make an alternative to superficial swipe apps like Tinder, Bumble and Happn.
Based on their own experiences with various dating apps they set out to create an app that would revolutionize the dating app-market and which, unlike traditional swipe apps like Tinder and Happn, which are based solely on static profile pictures, play on many of the same parameters that meeting people in the real world does.

Niirly works on four planes:

Incognito - this is the default mode. You are invisible to others but can still enjoy the full app - you first become visible when you decide to engage in activities and conversations

Stories - where you express yourself by us of the in-app camera to post short video stories or post pictures that disappears after 48 hours

Hangout - create or find unique dating events for all type of dates: sport, social, travel or business

Shake - Shake the phone when bumping into that special someone to make online contact

Nicolai Busekist – Partner - CTO
Nicolai holds an BSc Engineering Degree in Electronics and Programming and has for more than 25 years been a consultant for the biggest companies in Denmark. He has extensive experience in managing and controlling large scale IT operations from early startups to major complex systems. He has also been involved working with offshore IT teams for many years. Further Nicolai has more than 20 years of programming experience.
On the side Nicolai has founded a number of startups.
I 2006 Nicolai co-founded Copenhagen Driving Range – a professional Golf Driving Range - in Nordhavn, Center of Copenhagen, with his partner Martin Andersen. Nicolai later sold his part to his partner.
In 2008 Nicolai founded Mejuba, a photo and video sharing site that contented for 20 Most Promising IT Startup in Denmark in 2010.

Charlotte Skovmand – Partner - CEO
Educated as Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration, Charlotte has been working for more than 20 years as a business and management consultant. Charlotte is a highly experienced innovator and entrepreneur with deep knowledge in all aspects of business formation and has started a number of startups within a wide range of industries, including
HOMESTYLING – a company that provides staging of homes for sales.
Sundhedsrådgivningen - which offers counseling and healthcare services within dieting, smoking, alcohol and exercise and
booking.dk, which was sold to booking.com, one of the biggest online hotel booking companies worldwide.
Thus Charlotte has a solid knowledge of managing a startup and is furthermore an effective communicator. Her experience has taught her to maintain the stamina to keep going when things get tough as the often do in a startup. Charlotte has a strong knowledge of hiring the right – and skilled - employees building the right team and can operate on both a strategic and an operational level getting things done.
