Business Description
A young, independent, organic whisky distillery, Nc'nean started distilling in March 2017. Perched above the Sound of Mull in the remote community of Drimnin on the west coast of Scotland, Nc'nean is aiming to getting people to think again about Scotch.

We are committed to a sustainable and imaginative approach to distilling, including the use of organic barley, a biomass boiler which uses local woodchip and experimenting with different yeasts and longer mashing times.

The company was founded and is run by Annabel Thomas. The name, Nc'nean, comes from 'Neachneohain' the Queen of Spirits in Gaelic legend. It is pronounced Nc-ne-an, which sounds like Nc-knee-anne.

The distillery expects to release the first whisky in 2020. Prior to that it has released its innovative 'Botanical Spirit: somewhere between a whisky and a gin. We also welcome visitors for tours and release a limited number of early casks for sale in bond.
