Lucien has a rich history in the digital and startup sectors, starting his journey by founding an internet consulting business in the mid-1990s, transitioning to a startup entrepreneur in 2008, and playing a pivotal role in establishing the first few accelerator programs in the Netherlands. He has been a mentor to many startups and organized the first Amsterdam Startup Week in 2013. He also serves as Chairman of the Dutch Startup Association, where he aims to make the Netherlands the leading startup hub in Europe.
At the summit, Lucien will tackle the pressing topic: “Why European startups are still less likely to create the next Big Tech giant – and how to scale in and out of Europe.” This insightful talk will explore the challenges and opportunities for European startups aiming to achieve significant scale and impact both within and outside Europe.
