The Nordic venture fund Alliance VC sees great opportunities in Danish tech startups and is now increasing its focus on the Danish ecosystem. The efforts and investments will be led by the Danish entrepreneur Stine Mølgaard Sørensen.
The fund’s strategy is to have partners in each major Nordic ecosystem to be able to identify interesting startups and be a true partner to founders. According to them, Alliance VC is well on its way to raising its next fund of approx €100 million and part of the strategic work has been to identify a Danish partner to lead future investments in the Danish ecosystem.
“Denmark is known for being at the forefront of digital development and has successfully digitized society for decades and created many successful startups. It is, therefore, a natural part of our expansion to make investments in Denmark and to lead that effort we have hired Stine Mølgaard Sørensen as a Danish partner and we can thus profile ourselves to be a true Nordic fund with a solid presence in Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark. At the same time, we are extremely happy to include Stine in our partner team and look forward to drawing on her experiences from the Danish ecosystem,” commented Johan Gjesdahl, Managing Partner of Alliance VC.
Sørensen is a tech entrepreneur with a background in, among other things, the award-winning health-tech startup Radiobotics, and she holds a few board positions and has a prominent entrepreneurial profile within tech, innovation, and AI.
“Joining the partner team at Alliance VC is, for me, a huge opportunity to be allowed to influence future investments in, not just Danish, but also Nordic tech startups. I believe that through innovation and entrepreneurship, we can help put the Nordics on the global agenda and at the same time solve difficult societal challenges. Furthermore, it is a great privilege to be allowed to work with and learn from much more experienced profiles from Norway and Sweden,” said Stine Mølgaard Sørensen, Partner Alliance VC.
Alliance VC sees enormous potential in the Nordic startups and wants to significantly strengthen its position by having a local foothold in Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark.
