Dublin-based Mail Metrics acquires Dafil to become one of Ireland’s largest customer communications platforms

Mail Metrics, one of Ireland’s fastest-growing customer communications platform, has announced the acquisition of Dafil, strengthening its position as a leading player in the sector in Ireland. 

Mail Metrics’ growth to become the market leader in Ireland has been exponential, as evidenced by their revenue numbers which have gone from €1 million in 2019, to a projected €40 million by the end of 2023. This acquisition marks another significant milestone for Mail Metrics bringing their total number of employees from 110 up to 151, expanding their customer base of highly regulated companies.

Nick Keegan, CEO and Co-Founder of Mail Metrics, said: “Jean Maher and the team at Dafil have built an incredible business with a strong reputation in the marketplace and we’re delighted to be welcoming them into the Mail Metrics Group. Dafil has a reputation for delivering high-quality service consistently over four decades. According to Keegan, Mail Metrics has experienced consistently strong organic growth of 40% year on year, however, supplementing this with strategic acquisitions remains a key pillar of our growth strategy. This transaction is another milestone for us as we build out our acquisition function.

Founded in 2013, Mail Metrics typically works with firms in regulated industries including financial services and utilities where the emergence of digital channels, greater compliance demands, and increasing costs to serve, are changing how these large entities approach the management of their customer communications. 

Mail Metric’s moved to acquire Dafil due to their similar customer base and the opportunity to apply the Mail Metrics platform to support that customer base in transforming how they communicate and engage with their customers. Dafil has been providing secure transactional and customer communication services to a variety of blue-chip companies for over 4 decades.

Having acquired Persona (Ireland) and Forth Communications (U.K.) in 2021, the acquisition of Dafil is another step towards Mail Metric’s ambition of becoming a leading international customer communications solution provider.
