Milan-based Muscope closes an €800k round to consolidate its cybersecurity presence in Italy and expand in EU

Muscope Cybersecurity, a startup established in 2021 to develop cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions for identifying and managing cyber risks, has successfully concluded a funding round of €800k. The investment was led by renowned venture capital firm Primo Ventures, with their Primo Digital and Primo Digital Parallel Italia funds taking the lead, and joined by Klecha & Co., a prominent pan-European investment bank specializing in the tech sector, through its Cyber K1 investment vehicle.

The primary objective of this investment is to accelerate product development and expand the scope of data on which cyber threat identification is based. Furthermore, the funding round will allow Muscope to strengthen its presence in the Italian market and set its sights on expanding into the broader European market in the near future.

Expressing his gratitude, Bruno Cordioli, CEO of Muscope, states, “We are honored to have secured this funding round with leading players in the European landscape such as Primo Ventures and Klecha & Co. This investment will enable us to expedite the development of our products and services while solidifying our position in Italy.”

Muscope’s flagship product is the CYSR platform, a user-friendly and intuitive graphical interface that empowers organizations of all sizes to assess and manage their cyber risks with ease and efficiency. The platform collects, analyzes, and measures crucial data necessary for generating a comprehensive Cyber Security Rating, which is then summarized in a numerical index.

Niccolò Sanarico, general partner of Primo Digital, shares his perspective on the investment, stating, “At Primo Digital, we firmly believe that the European cybersecurity market possesses immense potential to foster internationally renowned leaders. Given the European Commission’s heightened focus and urgency regarding cybersecurity, we anticipate substantial growth in investments within the sector. We firmly believe that Muscope has the potential to emerge as a key player in both Italy and Europe.”

By securing this funding round, Muscope Cybersecurity is poised to propel its development efforts, enhance its product offerings, and establish a strong foothold in the cybersecurity landscape both in Italy and throughout Europe.
