UX and Interaction Writer

The Role:

We’re looking for an interactive storyteller to create user facing content for our conversational platform.

• You will share information, engage users and help clients achieve their goals.

This is a great chance to immerse yourself in AI and help shape how we use it.

• The role suits a games writer, UX writer or technically minded linguist.

We’re open to applications of any level but it’s essential you have a love of words, and examples to show it.

Hello Lamp Post

Our mission is to make places better for people.

• We help companies, services and governments make cities more playful and people-centric.
• We create digital assistants for the real world.
• Our product is a unique chat-based platform that brings to life street objects (post boxes, park benches, parking meters and - of course - lamp posts).
• Users can access dynamic information on location, giving feedback and accessing services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interactive writing - use the Hello Lamp Post platform to create stories, engage citizens and bring to life objects and spaces with simple accessible language
• Tone of voice - establishing content principles and systems to deliver experiences that achieve client goals
• Client management - translating each client's objectives into text message conversations that offer rich experiences to communities around the world
• Interaction design - work with our suite of technical tools to build conversational journeys
• Call to action - designing our messaging from the first call to action to the final sign off
• Engagement and analytics - using analytics tools to understand what is working and owning the engagement metrics within the business

Must have qualities:

• A love of language - You should be able to point to examples of your work online, either personal or professional
• Highly organised - able to prioritise, plan and coordinate your activities to a high level
• Passionate about tech for good - An enthusiasm for digital innovation and using technology for good
• Exceptional Communicator - Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills
• Self motivated - At your best in a remote working environment
• Process driven - Analytical, self reflective and always looking to improve
• Autonomous - Ability to prioritise, organise, plan and coordinate activities / time with minimal direction

Preferred (not essential):

• An interest in user experience and accessibility
• Experience with technology or the start-up world
• Professional writing experience or degree / equivalent
• An experience with or knowledge of CRMs (Hubspot, Zendesk or similar)
• Experience with Digital productivity tools (Trello, Slack, Google Workspace)
