
Description
Technology & startup scouting:
- Evaluate trends in climate technology.
- Focus on those relevant to CATL's current and future needs.
- You will focus on startup and innovation ecosystems.
- You will visit startup companies and attend conferences and events to expand CATL's network while staying updated on the latest technology trends.
- You will build relationships with leading academics, technology transfer offices, startups, public funding agencies, incubators / accelerators, and venture capital firms.
- Find and screen startups that align with the company's strategic goals and have a high potential for success.
- Provide regular reports that map regional innovation trends and key startups using state-of-the-art tools to help identify investment opportunities.
Internal communication and technical due diligence:
1 Work closely with the Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) business unit by providing technical insights and supporting investment decisions.
2 You will participate in the due diligence process for investments potential, focusing on technical assessment in your area of expertise.
3 You will be expected to work closely with the technical experts in CATL to assess new technologies and to align scouting efforts with the company's strategic objectives.
4 Provide detailed reports and presentations on scouting findings to technical leaders and the CVC business unit.
5 Assist in the negotiation and structuring of strategic partnerships and investments.
Strategic Insights:
1 Support the development of the company's technology and innovation strategy roadmap.
2 Identify and recommend strategic initiatives and partnerships to drive innovation and growth.
Qualifications:
1 Master's degree in STEM or another field related to climate technology. A PhD is preferred.
2 Five years of experience in research, development, and innovation. Experience in publishing scientific manuscripts, technology transfer and intellectual property, including patent filing and landscape analysis.
3 Proven experience in technology scouting, innovation management, or a related role.
4 Ability to quickly understand emerging technologies and awareness of global market trends.
5 Excellent analytical, research, and critical thinking skills, with a curious and open mindset.
6 Business acumen, with a strong ability to create value for internal and external stakeholders.
7 Excellent written and oral presentation skills, with a strong ability to convey complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
Strong knowledge of English is required; Mandarin and other languages are a strong plus.
