We are looking for x3 Systems Engineers with a DevOps mentality to join our Green Flag business. We are proud of the fact that Green Flag is operating as an established FinTech start-up within Direct Line Group and our technology transformation is a SAfE programme made up of 10 cross-functional scrum teams that all have complete end to end ownership of their own platform/product within the overall eco-system.
Who you’ll be working with: Green Flag are on a very exciting digital transformation journey, which includes the re-platforming all of our existing and legacy technology systems. Delivered using SAfE across two office locations (Bromley and Leeds) adopting a completely serverless micro-services architecture on AWS! You will work as part of a Scrum team to build and maintain your own platform/product, delivering tangible results at pace (every two weeks) and you will be working with AWS to support your scrum team with continuous delivery, build automation and infrastructure as code.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn and work with cutting edge technologies in AWS like (Amazon Connect, QLDB, SageMaker etc) that are part of a production platform in a business (Green Flag) that aims to be the go to service of the vehicle breakdown industry in the next 3 years. What you’ll be doing: Systems engineering responsibilities (building, maintaining and optimising the AWS services/infrastructure of the product platform for the scrum team). Providing Agile system engineering expertise (DevOps, Serverless Infrastructure, Networking & Routing, Security, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Continuous Integration, Distributed Systems, Big Data, Machine Learning).
Building and maintaining key AWS services within your platform (eg, API Gateway, S3, ElasticSearch, etc). Working with CI/CD Pipelines using AWS Code Pipeline, Code Build, Lambda, Fargate, Docker and using Cloud Formation as Infrastructure as a Code. Integrating code quality and security tools in deployment pipelines to improve and identify security issues. Carrying out system reviews to ensure accordance with architectural principles set out by and agreed within the team.
Hands-on experience with Bitbucket, Jira and Confluence.
