Research Grid (R.grid) is a small start-up that uses machine learning to streamline administrative medical research processes. Our system includes a high-volume automated document population, real-time qualitative data collection, intelligent reports and analyses, as well as communication and recruitment support.
About the role:
We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to add to our current team to produce reliable and scalable code. You'll be part of a cross-functional team that's responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. As a full-stack developer, you should be comfortable with both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries. You should also be a team player with a knack for visual design and utility. You should be self-sufficient and able to solve problems on your own. You should have sufficient working knowledge of scaling a commercial product.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Participating in the design and creation of scalable software
- Writing high-standard, functional code (front-end and back-end)
- Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues
- Work with the development team and business team to ideate new solutions for customers
- Design client-side and server-side architecture
- Build the front-end of applications with an appealing visual design
- Developing and managing cloud databases and applications
- Write effective APIs
- Testing software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
- Troubleshooting, debug and upgrading software
- Creating security and data protection settings
- Building features and applications with a mobile responsive design
- Writing technical documentation
- Working with data scientists and analysts to improve software
- Senior-level support for junior developers
Essential qualifications, experience, knowledge, and skills:
- Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or relevant field (minimum 2:1)
- Proven commercial experience as a full-stack developer
- Experience developing desktop and mobile applications and deploying them to a production environment
- Familiarity with common stacks
- Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
- Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g. Python, Node.js) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React)
- Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. EC2, S3) and front-end/UX design
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Great attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
- Self-motivated with a good work ethic and time management skills
- Eligible to work in the UK without a sponsor
