What’s the role?
We're looking for a super-talented, motivated and driven Senior Front-End Engineer to join Chatloop, the world’s first social web browser. As one of the first hires in Engineering, reporting directly to our new VP Engineering, your goal will be to shape, build and deliver a world class experience across our mobile and web platforms. Day-to-day you’ll be responsible for: Working as part of a cross functional team with other senior engineers, you’ll be responsible for building innovative & groundbreaking products and ensuring we continue to deliver optimal experiences for our customers and clients Implement and maintain complex, responsive, multiplatform user experiences
Influence decisions around software architecture and play a key part in conversations about the evolution of the mobile and web platforms Integration with internal and external APIs Ensure industry best practices in design and quality of everything you deliver and champion it in others. Automated testing of your work to ensure it does what it should and continues to do so. Experiment, collaborate, learn and debate.
Requirements
- Expert in modern JavaScript/Typescript development
- Experience with modern JS frameworks (ideally React & React-Native)
- Experience managing complex but performant app state and reactivity
- Experience developing and delivering a consistent UI/UX experience across multiple platforms and devices with a comprehensive Design system.
- Automated testing across the test pyramid from a Unit level to E2E Understanding of modern JS build pipelines, CI/CD.
- Nice to have Experience with Server-side rendering or generation (SSR/SSG) and isomorphic JavaScript
- Experience with Mobile development, native apps or Mobile first web design.
- Experience with cloud native app development (preferably AWS)
- Experience developing, securing or operating cloud scale applications or infrastructure as code
- Experience with modern quality practices, such as pairing, code review, TDD, BDD
- Experience delivering accessible, inclusive user experiences.
- A desire to lead and mentor more junior software engineers (grads, juniors and mid-weight engineers) and champion best practices.
