What's the role?

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing & profiling data for designing scalable solutions. You will help the team troubleshoot complex data issues & perform root cause analysis to proactively resolve product & operational issues. Leading a team of data engineers, you will be responsible for implementing data models & data structures needed for each use case as defined by Data Architects, in the most convenient format to be used by Data Scientists.

What does the role involve?

Provide technical support related to data structures, data models and meta data management to Data Architects and other relevant stakeholders. Participate in early data modeling and testing for use case development, provide input on how to improve proposed solutions and implement necessary changes. Work closely with IT teams on internal data acquisition (e.g., CRM, ERP, Website) and with Data Architects for external data acquisition.

Hilti is heavily investing in France: Our French office will be moving to Boulogne in 2019 and hosting our global Digital Marketing team.

What you need is:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or Information systems with 5+ years’ experience with advanced data management platform (e.g., Hadoop, AWS Redshift, Google cloud platform)
  • Understanding of traditional DB platforms like Business Warehouse, SQL, DB2 etc.
  • Deep expertise in data modeling and structuring, experience in high volume data environments
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies
  • Fluency in English
