    Description

    What are you going to do?

    Being a Ruby/Elixir Developer at T-Mobile is an exciting and varied job that touches different facets of both the customer fulfilment & assurance processes and the network infrastructure here at T-Mobile.

    The department we called ‘Digital Orchestration’ is the gateway between the commercial customer services and the implementation of those in our networks and on our service platforms. This encompasses internet access, TV and voice services for our consumer domain and internet access, connectivity and hosted voice/mobile connect services for our extended business line. The SCRUM team that you’ll join is developing and maintaining software that handles all the transactions towards our growing fixed network and service platforms.

    Your responsibility as a developer is to create and improve software together with your team to automate the network configuration, service fulfilment and service assurance processes, so our customers get the best experience when using those services.

    Your team will be responsible for the complete software development cycle. From gathering requirements, designing the solution, develop, test and deploy (via CI/CD of course) to the aftercare, DevOps style. Do you have a talent for writing elegant Ruby code? And did you already had a look at Elixir? We can offer you the opportunity to work with emerging technologies and a modern telecom network!

    Where are you going to work?

    T-Mobile is a challenging company to work for. We work harder than most. Why? Because our customers deserve to get what they need. That’s why we need people who challenge outdated mindsets. People who think fast and rewrite the rules. Who have a fierce ambition to bring change.

    Barriers prevent people from being their best selves. That’s why it’s our mission to break through these barriers in the telecom industry. Everyone should benefit from a connected life, don’t you agree? The Fixed Network department makes this happen. Software changes, customer connections, hosting and security; we’ve got it all covered. Small teams, professionals from around the world, and an impressive challenger quality. How else can we support more than a thousand internal and millions of external users? This is where we make an impact.

    We believe in a connected life. For our customers and our employees. You create your workspace. At the office? You’ll be in good company! At home? Be sure to do the dishes while you’re there. The more people, places, and things are connected, the more value is created. For all of us.

    You can also look forward to seriously funny colleagues, regular exercise with a Health Club, and, of course, a salary, holiday leave, and generous bonuses. Still not enough? Check our website!

    Curious to find out more about the T-Mobile culture? Follow us on social media and discover how we keep challenging the world. Or you’re always welcome to stop by for a coffee at our office. #

    Still reading? Then we’ll leave you with a little bit about T-Mobile

    Although we might not be a start-up (we do have awesome macchiato’s), we do behave like one. T-Mobile is a challenger. For over twenty years, we have been providing our customers with the service they deserve. And these days we’re on a mission to make a connected life completely carefree. We want to get rid of constraints that prevent people from being their best selves sooner rather than later. That is carefree living as it is meant to be. Because it can be. Are you ready to take on this challenge with us?

    Your experience

    • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or another relevant study or equivalent knowledge gathered by work experience;
    • At least one year of working experience in backend development in Ruby;
    • Experience with one or more technologies like Sidekiq, Git, Docker, Ruby on Rails, AWS, K8’s or Azure Cloud;
    • A getting things done mentality, combined by being flexible;
    • A preference for working in an open and dynamic work culture;
    • A passion for clean code;
    • A true software craftsmanship mentality and feel responsible for what you create;
    • Worked with Elixir, either professional or in your free time;

    But if you miss a lot of the above, but you are smart and well educated, have a strong technical profile and would love to become a software developer in an intriguing technology driven world, consider the option to join as a junior and get on-the-job training by some of the best.

    So if:

    • You come up with smarter and better ideas to automate the network;
    • You can help us completing the switch to Elixir;
    • You can improve our cloud first approach;
    • We get maintainable and adaptable code;
    • We have happy customers that can change their telecom services on the fly;

    Than maybe this is the right opportunity for you!

    What is in it for you?

    There is a lot possible within T-Mobile, but you have to take the initiative yourself. Be excited! Are you missing something or could something be better? Go ahead, do it differently. After a first digital introduction to a recruiter, you will come for an interview with the hiring manager. Still enthusiastic? Then there will be a substantive 2nd conversation! If you, and we, are even more enthusiastic afterwards, you will receive an offer and you can join Team Magenta!

    In addition to about 2000 enthusiastic colleagues, we also offer the following:

    • Excellent salary
    • Variable remuneration scheme
    • Pension plan
    • Personal learning budget
    • T-Mobile 5G unlimited subscription, phone voucher and employee discount
    • Freedom to work

    For us, learning is just as normal as calling. You are responsible for your own development and you decide how, what and when you learn. We support you in this! Go to www.campus.t-mobile.nl for more information.

    You are in the lead, so we don't do old-fashioned performance interviews and assessments. You ensure that your manager and your colleagues are aware of your goals and development. Are you as excited about us, as we are about this role? Great! Then we're sure to be a good match! Applying for a job with us is very easy. Send your CV and motivation, using the application button and one of our recruiters will call you.

    There is also a possibility for vendors to introduce their best candidates. These candidates need to be on the payroll of the vendor for a period of 12 months first. After that period your consultant qualifies for a permanent contract at our great company!

    If you're still not convinced, perhaps an introduction to our CEO https://t-mobile-hq.arbeidsmarktexperience.nl/ will help!
