EMIL Group* is a software company founded in 2016 and based in Berlin. We offer a proprietary policy management platform for insurance companies. It covers the entire P&C value chain and is used by insurance companies to manage existing portfolios more efficiently and launch innovative products faster. The team consists of experienced entrepreneurs and developers (ex-Amazon, ex-Google, etc.) and is supported by renowned VC funds and private investors.As we are growing we are looking for an experienced and ambitious character to support our team as a Product Manager *(f/m/d)*.
As Product Manager at EMIL Group, you will be taking over the ownership of our insurance software, the EMIL Insurance Suite. Your main mission will be to coordinate business requirements and work closely with the engineering, business development and management teams. We currently work in 3-week scrum sprints using Jira for the backlog and sprint management.*Tasks** Together with our head of technology you are responsible for the results of the product development team consisting of frontend, backend and QA engineers as well as a UX designer* Own and prioritize feature backlogs, driving execution and agile development* Track product KPIs, metrics and analyse product usage data* Take ownership of understanding customer needs, defining epics, user stories, business/technical requirements. * Work closely with the internal and external stakeholders to develop a roadmap and prioritize the feature backlog* Become the central point of contact between the product development and the business development side of the company
*Requirements** 2-3 years experience in software product management, ideally in B2B, SaaS, Insurance or Enterprise Software* German (mother tongue level) and English (fluently spoken and written) language skills
* Experience with Agile processes and driving agile/scrum teams* Strong sense of ownership and accountability* Excellent communication skills across all mediums (visual, written, verbal) that inspire teams, simplify complex technical concepts, and bolster your decisions with focus and clarity in English and German * Self-motivated, proactive and comfortable working autonomously* Passion to be successful in startup and high-growth environment* Proficient with tools like Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office, Figma etc. for documentation and mockups* SQL knowledge and basic scripting experience (e.g Python) is a plus for quick data analysis* Previous insurance technology knowledge is a strong plus, but if not, you should be willing to become an expert in it quickly
