We are pioneering the introduction of innovative and disruptive low-profile multiple-beam satellite communications terminals for mobile and fixed applications. These highly integrated terminal systems combine elements of new advances in microwave lens optics, phased array antenna technology, and dynamic beam pointing control systems. Our IP has applications across a wide range of market sectors including; aeronautical, land mobile, maritime, and 5G, providing broadband, multi-beam, two-way communications with dynamic tracking of geostationary and non-geostationary satellites or terrestrial nodes.

Opportunity

 

As part of its progression into the next phase of the corporate growth strategy, Isotropic Systems is seeking a Product Line Manager (PLM) with direct experience in Satellite Ground Terminals for Mobility applications and a history of managing a product line of user-terminals in the satellite industry sector.

Working with the market and associated industry bodies, the PLM is responsible for managing the product portfolio through an understanding of the market and industry requirements and accounting for these in the context of Isotropic’s unique technology and capabilities.

In an ambiguous commercial environment the PLM will filter information and present an unambiguous plan as to the high level product requirements needed to offer a competitive product line to different verticals within the satellite industry.

Reporting into the Director of Product Management and as a key contributor, the PLM is a high impact, hands-on role that brings industry knowledge and specific product expertise to the Isotropic team. This includes contributing towards the definition and development of appropriate software tools, procedures and processes that self-manage the group’s activities in a formal framework.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 ·  Listen and talk to industry leaders and customers, articulate detailed user stories, contribute to product ideation, strategy and vision in line with the company objectives and capabilities.

· Translate customer requirements and bring new ideas from the market to contribute to the associated product road map for a profitable Global Product Portfolio.

·Through knowledge of industry requirements together with competitors’ product offerings, and in the context of Isotropic’s unique selling points, identify product differentiators and prioritise product features.

·Assess the commercial viability and performance of current and future products and solutions.

·Work ahead of the market in the regulatory and conference domain to get early warning of product definitions and trends. Contribute to the mapping of this to product improvement / development initiatives.

·Gathering product requirements from stakeholders – market, customers, partners, sales, finance, operations and management. Liaise with R&D to develop Scopes of Work and specifications that translate high level market and product requirements into the detailed R&D program.

·Initiate and drive product bench-marking, cost reduction and promotional activities.

·Serve as internal product expert and “go-to” resource for the rest of the organization.

· Be the technology champion of Isotropic’s product line to the outside world, including presenting at industry events, as appropriate.

·Contribute towards the development of;

                      o product road map

                      o competitive analysis and positioning

       o product functional specifications

       o new product development ROI analysis

       o revenue and margin forecasts by product category

       o management of product launches and rollouts of major releases

       o MaCom material to promote the product value and USPs

·Work closely with the Proposal and Sales Teams to contribute in developing proposal material to satisfy competitive solicitations and opportunities.

·Participate in the development of product management methodologies, standards, processes, deliverables, communication plans, and operational framework necessary to deliver the right product roadmap and lifecycle planning in line with budget and schedule constraints. Solicit and provide feedback on the effectiveness of the tools and implement continuous improvements.

·Other duties as required.

Skills and/or Experience Needed:

·Relevant Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Management.

·+Six (+6) of directly relevant product management experience in the satellite ground equipment sector, in relation to electronic scanned antennas / terminals for mobility applications across consumer, enterprise and government markets.

·Intimate knowledge of the satellite ground equipment sector including the market requirements, key players, customers and competitors for user-terminals across multiple verticals.

·Experience with all phases of product development from concept to prototype to volume manufacture to market introduction.

·Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to undertake product  line management with minimal supervision.

·Effective communication and strong presentation skills

·Demonstrated ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all levels of employees in a team-oriented environment.

·Ability to influence and direct multiple activities and work in a fast-paced environment.

·Ability to challenge content and assumptions.

·Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and other PM software tools.

·Excellent communication skills - written and verbal. Fluency in written and spoken English

·Ability to travel on request.
